In 1962 Hamilton created a joint venture with Japanese Ricoh, the same company that makes copiers and cameras. They were trying to take advantage of the blossoming Japanese economy. The movements were based on the Vantage 130E movement and share many of the parts of the Hamilton 505. They were manufactured in Hamilton’s plant in Lancaster, PA, but marketed exclusively in the Asian market, so few are found here today.
